Spiritual growth is one of those areas that is often difficult to get to. Let’s talk first about the difference between spirituality and religion. Religion is the expression of our spirituality. Spirituality is the internal awareness that the core of who we are is connected to a greater purpose in life, and that everything that happens in life, our experiences, our personality, our opportunities, and our pain, are all a part of guiding and shaping us into that purpose.
To grow spiritually is often facing the things we cannot change to find the things we can change, and then choosing to be transformed and moved by the experience. This happens through creating awareness of how the soul speaks and gives information regarding the internal journey. In this noisy world we are not taught how to spiritually listen, but the human spirit is always expressing itself, but we shut it down and eventually the voice of our spirit grows so dim, we no longer hear it.
Reawakening your ability to listen and hear the inner you is a
process of recognizing:
- The faulty thinking, the fears, and insecurities that set you up to
disconnect from your spirit
- How to use your 8 senses to become aware of yourself and the world.
- Thinking skills and types of attention that promote spiritual understanding.
- True emotions and human feelings are not the same thing.
You can begin to reawaken the natural skills of spiritual listening. Spiritual listening is a type of internal listening that is a skill. You can discover a deeper spiritual life that is satisfying and contented regardless of what is going on in the rest of your life and world.
